Backlinks
Put useful evidence where customers can find it.
Backlink reviews, relevant publication research, source material and editorial outreach that connect external coverage with the pages customers need.
Contact usOVERVIEW
A backlink connects another webpage to your website. When it takes readers from a relevant article to a useful explanation, it can introduce the business and help customers evaluate it. Growly defines the publication, context and destination page that would make that connection worthwhile.
You can commission a review of existing links or include material development and publication outreach. If the destination lacks essential information, we improve it first. If useful material already exists, we identify readers and publications that have reason to use it. Publishers retain the final decision on coverage and links.
Review existing links and their destinations.
We examine destination pages, context, language, anchor text and broken or removed links. Competitor links are assessed for their readers and subject matter to identify relevant opportunities. Research records its tools, coverage and date because different sources discover different links.
A destination page needs the facts a reader came to verify and a useful next step. Where links point only to the homepage, we consider whether a service explanation, case study or analysis would answer the reader’s question more directly. Outdated URLs and broken links become correction opportunities where a workable route exists.
Evaluate readers and context before domain scores.
Publication research covers subject matter, geography, language, published work and editorial standards. Third-party scores such as DR and DA can be recorded as reference information. They do not determine the shortlist. The priority is whether the publication serves relevant readers and whether the proposed material fits its content.
The plan identifies the topic, supporting material, destination and outreach approach for each opportunity. Independent editorial coverage is distinguished from advertising and sponsorship so the budget and expected outcomes are clear.
Prepare useful source material and make a relevant proposal.
We develop material from analysis, operating experience, service information and case evidence the client can publish. Figures retain their period and scope; unverified results are excluded. Material is adapted to the proposed article or contribution, with a suitable webpage suggested for readers who need more detail.
Outreach and follow-up are tailored to each publication, with responses, revision requests and publication status recorded. Where existing coverage contains incorrect information or a broken link, we can request a correction. A proposal is not a promise of publication or a backlink.
Check publication terms and link treatment.
For advertising and sponsored placements, we review the commercial relationship and link treatment, including sponsored or nofollow attributes under Google’s paid-link guidance. Anchor text reflects the article and the information readers expect to find.
After publication, we check that the page is available, the information is accurate, and the destination and link treatment match the agreed terms. The completion record includes the publication URL, date, destination, paid or unpaid status and verification result so clients can inspect the work directly.
Separate published work from commercial contribution.
We track published material, retained links, identifiable referral visits and resulting inquiries. Search changes are considered alongside content revisions and other marketing activity. An increase in a domain score is not treated as proof of revenue contribution.
Unfamiliar links are not automatically removal targets. Removal requests and disavowal are considered where substantial manipulative links have caused, or are likely to cause, a manual action. Disavowal does not delete another site’s content and is not applied as routine monthly housekeeping.

Common questions
Yes. We can scope a link review, publication research, material development or outreach. Any required destination-page work is discussed separately, with responsibilities agreed.
DR and DA are reference measures. We also assess the audience, subject relevance, material and publication terms before defining the scope. Published URLs and link status are verified and reported; publishers’ decisions and search rankings are not guaranteed.
Backlink work focuses on external material, destination pages and link status. Digital PR also covers community and social content and customer conversations. Where both require the same material or publication work, we define responsibilities to avoid duplicate production and reporting.
Most sites do not need the disavow tool. We review link patterns, past work and any manual action before considering it. Disavowal requires particular care where substantial manipulative links have caused, or are likely to cause, a manual action. It is not a guarantee of ranking recovery.
