A familiar internal term can make a different promise in English

A Korean business may group several offerings under a broad expression for skin care. People searching for dermatologist, skin care clinic, or facial spa should not automatically be treated as seeking the same experience. Blurring clinical care and nonmedical services can increase inquiries while leaving the response team to undo the misunderstanding.

Equally, do not assume that dentist and dental clinic always represent different intentions. Read the full phrase, including service and location qualifiers. The task is not to assign a fixed customer type to every word. It is to establish what the wording invites people in the relevant market to expect.

A dictionary translation cannot complete that assessment. Compare actual services and qualifications with customer language and observed results. A name that reaches beyond the service’s scope may produce clicks whose main consequence is additional explanation later.

Separate the business, the service, and the customer’s problem

Maintain three connected lists: the actual business category, the specific services sold, and the words customers use to explain what they want. They are not interchangeable. Turning every customer phrase into a category or expecting one category to answer every question makes the structure harder to use.

A traveler seeking care during a visit does not make the provider a travel business. Keep the real category and explain timing and location conditions in the appropriate guidance. Conversely, wording that implies a particular clinical qualification should be checked against actual credentials and service scope before publication.

For a map profile, select a specific primary category describing the core business rather than adding a category for every product or service. Detailed questions belong in service information and web pages. Maintain a distinction between the platform’s available category list and marketing language the business can write freely.1

The original category comparison: source and meaning of the figures

The category keyword material published in June 2026 attributed its comparisons to GMB Everywhere’s Category Finder. It covered dental, plastic surgery, dermatology, skincare, cafés, bars and restaurants, with primary terms and related categories. The table retains the original values for the primary terms. The complete material, including related categories, remains available in the original HTML listed in the sources.3

The original describes the figures as estimates based on category usage. It does not specify the measurement date, country or reporting interval, so the values cannot be converted into current monthly searches or numbers of international visitors. The M and k labels are retained as published. GMB Everywhere is a third-party tool, independent of Google. This table preserves a historical publication; it is not a newly validated estimate of market size.34

Use the material to identify expressions worth investigating. Different values for Dentist and Dental clinic do not establish whether demand overlaps, which country it represents or the circumstances behind it. Inclusion in a related-category list also does not make a term suitable for the service you actually provide. Shortlist relevant expressions, compare them with the offer and local search results, then apply the definitions below before treating a figure as demand.

Establish the unit before comparing the number

A number beside a category may count registered businesses, not searches. Worldwide interest also cannot be read directly as booking demand from people visiting Korea. Record the unit, country, period, and query scope before placing numbers in a comparison table. Different conditions should not be disguised as one precise ranking of opportunities.

Keyword Planner’s average monthly searches cover a keyword and close variants under selected date, location, and network conditions, and may be rounded. They are not customer or booking counts. Adding closely related phrases can also make overlapping demand look like separate markets, so use totals cautiously.2

Choosing a language in a tool does not by itself isolate English-speaking international tourists. People researching before departure and people already in Korea also represent different situations. Examine the priority origin market and local visiting context separately, explaining which decision each view is intended to support.

For an operating business, collect wording used in real inquiries as another input. A phrase with a small estimated volume can still help explain suitable demand. Consultation records represent people who contacted the business, however, and should not be treated as the language of the whole market.

Write the selection rationale before choosing a phrase

The table illustrates terminology review for a Korean service business. Its expectations are hypotheses to investigate, not findings from search-volume research. Use actual results and inquiry wording to revise the roles assigned to each phrase.

If two accurate expressions remain, the entire business name need not change immediately. Choose a main phrase for a title or introduction and explain another familiar expression naturally in the body. Do not treat a material distinction such as clinical versus nonmedical scope as a harmless synonym.

Record category changes separately from copy revisions. If several changes happen together and inquiries shift, the cause cannot be confidently assigned to one of them. Preserving the date and rationale gives the next review something more useful than a recollection that the terminology was improved.

Judge terminology through the inquiries it produces

After a wording change, inspect what people ask as well as impressions and clicks. Are fewer inquiries expecting a service the business does not offer? Are suitable customers asking more specific questions? A decline in total inquiries does not automatically mean the terminology became worse.

Avoid making a page for every translation. Distinct services or materially different questions may justify separate explanations; alternative phrases for the same need may belong together. Multiple pages with the same purpose create more opportunities for prices and operating conditions to diverge during later updates.

Align the terminology used by marketing and the response team. If the website calls an offering a facial but staff reply only with an unrelated internal package name, customers must establish whether the two are the same. Internal names can remain useful, provided staff can explain their relationship to customer language.

The largest-volume word is an easy answer. The better decision specifies which customer is being offered which service. Once that promise is accurate, the map category, page title, and first consultation reply can support the same expectation.
